The Toxic Avenger – Release News

The Toxic Avenger, a mutant vigilante comedy, premieres in UK and Irish cinemas on 29 August, featuring an all-star cast.

Synopsis: Winston Gooze is an ordinary janitor, who after a shocking accident, transforms a downtrodden janitor into a mutant vigilante. Armed with his signature mop, the unlikely hero battles freaks, gangsters and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son.
 
Starring Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Jacob Tremblay (Doctor Sleep), Taylour Paige (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), Kevin Bacon (MaXXXine), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Julia Davis (Gavin & Stacey) and Luisa Guerreiro (Baldur’s Gate III), The Toxic Avenger is written by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore), Lloyd Kaufman (Mother’s Day) and Joe Ritter (The Toxic Avenger 1984), and is directed by Blair.
 
Based on the original 1980s cult hit which spawned an outrageous franchise, The Toxic Avenger is produced by Kaufman and Michael Herz (Class of Nuke ‘Em High) of Troma Entertainment, and Alex Garcia (Godzilla MonsterVerse) and Mary Parent (Dune: Part One, Dune Part Two) of Legendary Pictures.

The inimitable Bella Thorne (BlendedMidnight SunScream: The TV Series) delivers an outstanding performance as the eponymous lead in a spiritually charged smalltown tale with a powerful mix of American Psycho meets Joan of Arc. The film now gets its highly anticipated UK release on 21 July 2025 from 101 Films.

Based on a novel by Don Roff, the film is expertly helmed by award-winning Italian director Mitzi Peirone (Braid) who co-wrote the screenplay with Guinevere Turner (American Psycho).

The stellar cast includes Ryan Philippe (CrashCruel Intentions), Rebecca DeMornay (The Hand That Rocks the CradleRisky Business), Frank Whaley (Broken ArrowPulp Fiction) and Bart Johnson (High School Musical). The film features an original soundtrack by Zola Jesus.

In a small town, a solitary young woman is haunted by voices that lead her to assassinate people with bad intentions who think they can get away with it. But her last kill changes everything and sucks her headlong down a rabbit hole riddled with corruption, trafficking and twisted visions from the beyond.

Can Saint Clare save herself from unimaginable terror as her pursuit for retribution takes a dangerous turn, carrying her deep into an unknown hell?

THE DARK FANTASTIC, celebrating cult composer Simon Boswell, premieres at Raindance Film Festival on June 26th with special guests.

Cosmic Buzz Films is excited to share that their hallucinatory music documentary, THE DARK FANTASTIC, which celebrates the work of cult British composer Simon Boswell, will be celebrating its UK Premiere at Raindance Film Festival on June 26th.

Dirty Boy – Release News

DIRTY BOY will premiere in the UK at Raindance Film Festival on June 22, nominated for four awards including Best UK Feature and Best Director.

Mystic Dream Story Studio and Stone Hill, in association with Saint Halo Productions are delighted to announce that their psychological cult thriller, DIRTY BOY, will be celebrating its UK Premiere at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival on 22nd June. The film has been nominated for four awards at the festival; Best Performance in a UK Feature (Graham McTavish), Best UK Feature, Best Director of a UK Feature (Doug Rao) and Best UK Cinematography.

DIRTY BOY marks Doug Rao’s feature length directorial debut, which he also wrote and co-produced. The film stars Stan Steinbichler (Zero Chill, Vienna Blood, Eismayer), Susie Porter (Gold, Wentworth Prison, Cargo), Honor Gillies (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and Graham McTavish (The Witcher, Outlander, The Hobbit). The film was produced by Giles Alderson (The Stranger in Our BedWolves of WarThe Dare), Sarah Ann Grill (SlammerSolitary) and Marek Lichtenberg (The Final 45), who also stars in the film.

Raised in an oppressive cult, a reclusive schizophrenic discovers that he’s being framed by the cult leaders for a series of ritualistic murders and must prove his innocence by saving their next victim and destroying the evil sect from within.

The horror film Consecration, starring Jena Malone, premieres on UK Digital Platforms on June 16, exploring dark truths at a convent.

Vertigo Releasing will unleash the unholy horror Consecration on Digital Platforms from 16th June.

After the suspicious death of her brother, a priest, Grace goes to the Mount Saviour Convent in Scotland to find out what really happened. Once there, she uncovers murder, sacrilege and a disturbing truth about her own past.

The film stars Jena Malone (The Hunger Games franchise, The Neon Demon), Danny Huston (The Aviator, Children of Men, 21 Grams), Thoren Ferguson (Emmerdale, Vigil), Will Keen (Operation Mincemeat, Victor Frankenstein), and Dame Janet Suzman (The Crown, Antony and Cleopatra). Consecration was directed by Christopher Smith (Triangle, Creep, Temple), who co-wrote the film with Laurie Cook (Lord of Misrule, Don’t Hang Up, Triangle).

I Heart Willie reimagines Mickey Mouse as a horror film where two YouTubers face a deadly mouse trap and pure evil.

Two YouTubers are unknowingly led into a deadly mouse trap where pure evil seeks to harvest their skin, in this horrifying reimagining of the much-loved Mickey Mouse cartoon.

Don’t get it twisted, this ain’t no Disney delight – I Heart Willie brings a dark origin to the animation that launched an empire.

When popular influencers Daniel and Nico receive an invitation to investigate the legend of Steamboat Willie – a boy born with deformitiesthat have left him resemblinga human/mouse hybrid, which supposedly inspired Disney’s pioneering animation – they’re intrigued and decide to take up the challenge.

Believing Willie to be an urban legend – that says he kills and crafts a bodysuit from the skins of those who cross his path– the daring YouTubers are about to find out theunimaginable truth.

As the pair set up for anight, ready to film their findings ofchills and thrills, they unwittingly enter Willie’s clubhouse – a place of horror, where sadistic torture and mayhem awaits them.

The Boatyard – Release News

"The Boatyard" follows college students trapped at sea, pursued by a cannibalistic killer, premiering digitally on June 9.

After their boat breaks down, a group of college students are trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea as they’re hunted down and tortured by a pack of deranged cannibal killers.

Mike Ferguson (The Amityville Rising, Desert Dawn) and Susan Lanier (The Hills Have Eyes, Cut!) star as ravenous homicidal maniacs in Dale Stelley’s (Paradise, Bomb Pizza) truly disturbing horror feature, which is set to arrive on UK digital this September, courtesy of Reel 2 Reel Films.

After a wild day of partying, five college students find themselves stranded in the middle of the ocean when their boat mysteriously breaks down. To their luck, a stranger (Ferguson) emerges from the shadows offering to take the young partygoers back to the boatyard where he can fix up their boat.

Little dothey know their knight in shining armour harbours a fiendish hunger for murder,and they’ve unwittingly become his next victims…
