The documentary follows the hype surrounding Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival. It follows the fans who were excited for one of the biggest shows in the post-COVID era. We meet different people from diverse backgrounds, including local students and career professionals. It follows the investigation of who is at fault for the tragedy that occurred.
Best Parts
The documentary explores the audience’s view of wanting to be free, unleashing from the normal, and enjoying the moment. Elsewhere, it explores the reputation behind Travis Scott concerts and the previous problems he has caused. The investigation side of things is the most interesting, and coming from a country which had a similar tragedy because of crowd problems and poor planning. It is surprising to see that things were still happening without any planning.
Worst Parts
It is more down to frustration that this type of tragedy happens. We have seen it before, and people don’t prepare, from the planners cutting corners and the audience breaking in, causing overcrowding. It shows the recklessness of everyone involved in the planning and shows the careless attitudes people have toward other people. We should have also had a lot more focus on the investigation and not just accounts of what happened.
