Recap
The documentary follows the rise and fall of Robert W Lee. It follows his difficult beginnings and his need to battle racial discrimination despite being one of the brightest students. He worked his way up different fields before becoming the co-founder of the International Boxing Federation. The movie explores how people became a target for corruption in the sport and how he maintains his innocence.
Best Parts
The movie shows how easily people get to the top and how people want to bring them down. It shows the corruption in the system and how easily the powers control people. On the darker side of the documentary, we see racial discrimination still within the professional world. It is an important look at someone brave enough to try to change the system to protect boxers.
Worst Parts
For a documentary, it gives us the basic and the story behind the events in Robert W Lee’s life. The story is important, but it lacks something to show his true importance in changing the sport. It would have been nice to see more people he helped singing his praises, but we mostly just have his personal story with a few smaller interviews.
