Recap of Resident Evil Episode 6 Someone’s Little Girl

In 2022, Albert Wesker looks to continue his questioning of Angel, staying ahead of Evelyn, and keeping the answers to himself. Taking the problems into his own hands.

In 2036, Billie confronts Jade, who now works for Umbrella and Evelyn. Wanting to take Jade back to the facility to face the truth. Only Billie lets Jade go, returning to her friends on an offshore base. This gives Jade a chance to reunite with her daughter.

On the ship in 2036, the crew start to see the ghost ship floating in the water when they start to float over the infected. Jade starts her experiment on the head she took, getting no answers until she thinks outside the box. She must take a break on the ship, watching her daughter perform, something she hasn’t seen in so long.

Jade is caught in the middle of seeing her daughter’s talents and a ground-breaking discovery in her research. Turning to science as the most important part of her life. Continuing to risk her life in search of a sample to bring aboard the ship. Putting the whole ship’s lives at risk.

The experiment goes to plan, but Jade must live with the consequences of her actions, as her best friend is killed by the infected. She is acting just like her father and now Umbrella has found them.

Back in 2022, we get a short scene where Angel has become infected and Albert gets a visit from someone looking to break him out.

What to look out for next time?

What will Umbrella do to Jade and the ship?

How with Albert recover from his betrayal?

Will Billie and Jade escape in 2022?

Who the hell was in the wall?

Short Thoughts

In this episode, we don’t touch the 2022 side of the story, which I guess makes up for the last episode not touching 2036.

When it comes to the 2036 side of the story, the big, massive encounter between the sisters, doesn’t seem to mean anything. Instead, we look at the new life Jade has, following her father’s footsteps of experimenting and putting work before the family. It is disappointing that not much more is made from the encounter.

To make matters a lot worse Jade’s reckless behaviour costs lives because she doesn’t conduct anything with any patience. She has become just as bad as her father.

Final Thoughts: This is a strange episode because it feels mostly dull, but it has a big cause and effect moment involved. 2/5

Recap of Resident Evil Episode 5 Home Movies

In 2036, Jade finds herself captured by Umbrella, with a masked figure revealing themselves to be Billie.

Back in 2022, Albert is summoned by Evelyn to deal with the stranger reporter Angel problem. Albert shows a more violent side, one we haven’t seen before, proving it has been there all the time. Billie and Jade look to move on with their lives after Billie never turned. Leading to Jade wanting to learn more about their past and their father’s past. This will send the sisters on an adventure following clues left by their father.

Seemingly forgetting the 2036 timeline, we continue to follow the sisters in 2022. This shows them starting to fall apart, as they are left wondering why Billie was picked for the treasure map, not Jade. Causing tension between the two, creating more drama than needed. As the sisters continue to work together, they discover a secret laboratory below the house in the basement.

The sisters discover footage of what their father has been up to in the past, showing him involved with. Learning he was studying Billie, preparing the worst, to keep her with him. Breaking the security placed upon them, finding themselves trapped in the fire-engulfed room. Saved only, by their father’s return.

Confronting their father, they want to know the truth and learn Albert would do anything to protect his daughters.

What to look out for next time?

is 2036 still a thing?

What was Albert up to in his previous life?

Can the sisters cope on their own?

Short Verdict

In what is a strange episode that only gives us one glimpse into the 2036 storyline, despite that being left with the big cliff-hanger in the last episode.

The story in 2022 has plenty of mystery about it but zero interest for the Resident Evil fans. This episode only focuses on the sisterly relationship avoiding way too much of what makes the franchise stand out.

It might be done in a fun teenage adventure way, but it is just dull and uninspiring to the audience.

Final Thoughts: This is a very weak episode, having no Resident Evil-like moments. 1/5

Recap of Resident Evil Episode 4 The Turn

We head to Tijuana for the first time, investigating the first outbreak and how the victim changed. Becoming irritated by bright lights, sound and other transformations going on. Looking to expose more of the original outbreak in Raccoon City.

Meanwhile, in 2036, Jade and Baxter are taken to the Brotherhood’s base. Baxter and Jade might have to put their differences aside if they are going to make it out of here alive. As they see the number of infected within the walls. The Brotherhood believe this is a religious event, created by God.

In 2022, Albert sees his latest experiment failing, as his race to find an antivirus is running dangerously low. Jade and Billie are trying to deal with everything themselves, with Billie willing to go to a final party before she turns. As the girls are looking for their time together, Albert is preparing for the worst. As a visitor gets into the city, searching for the Wesker’s.

Recap of Resident Evil – Episode 4 – The Turn

In 2036, Jade and Baxter see the horrors of what the Brotherhood will do to survivors, as they continue to search for a way out of the prison, they find themselves in. this gives Jade a valuable insight into how the infected have started to communicate, the very research she was trying to conduct. Instead of being chased, they must fight their way out this time. Showing Baxter’s leadership in conflict.

In 2022, Billie is feeling empty and alone, disappointed that Jade doesn’t give her time in her final moments. She just wanted to spend time with her sister, but Jade was too busy for her. Albert searches for his daughters, while the stranger has found Jade, needing to prepare her for what is coming. Revealing the shocking truth that Albert Wesker died in the original Raccoon City outbreak.

Back in 2036, Jade is drawn to her research, wanting to learn more about the queen of the infected, needing to learn how it operates, believing it could be key to more when it comes to fighting back. This will leave her back against the wall, facing the reality she might not make it out of this one. Of course, she will, teaming up with Baxter to escape. With a new threat waiting for her.

In 2022, Evelyn captured the stranger, questioning him and revealing that Billie has become infected. As the sister rush home before the infection takes full control of Billie, can she continue to fight it? Making it past the timer set for her.

What to look out for next time?

Who is in the helicopter?

How will Evelyn deal with the stranger?

Can older Jade learn from the queen?

The Stranger offers to give up the information about who is infected, will he give it up?

Can Albert keep the infection secret?

Short Verdict

In 2036, we get one of the best scenes of the show so far, Baxter and Jade’s escape. Where Baxter gets to show a badass side to his character, as he ruthless escapes, killing everyone in flair, his build wouldn’t expect to see. Baxter continues to be one of the most entertaining characters, with his funny lines.

In 2022, we focus more on the friendship between the sisters, as Billie feels like her time is running out, wanting her last few hours with her sister. While her sister is out meeting new people, not sharing the moment together as she wishes.

The story manages to give us a reflective nature for the first time so far, showing Jade dealing with infection coming towards her, needing to make the decision on whether to make it or not.

Final Thoughts: This episode does have more intensity when it comes to the two stories, the race between making it out of the problems in time. 4/5

Recap of Resident Evil Episode 3 The Lights

In 2022, Evelyn Marcus is taking part in an interview, one which asks daring questions about what happened at the original Raccoon City. Jade continues to want to warn Billie about the change she might go through. Albert learns the side effect of his own experiment, as the test rat has escaped.

In 2036, Jade is trying to escape the attack on the dock, escaping once again as Baxter becomes more frustrated about her escape while keeping his twist enjoyment about the bloodbath. Jade joins a family of survivors as they search for another option to escape across the channel.

In 2022, Billie wants to get back to normal life, as the infection is healing quickly. Meanwhile, Jade starts a timing on what she believes is how long until Billie turns. While Albert is trying to remain strong, letting Billie do her own thing. It doesn’t take long before Billie starts showing more side effects of the infection. Evelyn continues to push for the release of ‘Joy’ showing money is the only thing that matters. Despite Albert’s reservations about the release of the product. Billie continues to show the side effects of her infection.

In 2036, Baxter continues on the trail of Jade, finding the next attempt to cross the channel through the tunnel. As Jade and the group find themselves in the middle of a ‘Clickers’ nest (even though I thought this was The Last of Us creature). This leads to a battle to survive, with both sides fighting back against the infected creatures hunting anything that moves. This does feel like the first time we have seen the legacy creatures from the source material.

In 2022, Evelyn and Albert continue to clash about the new drug, with the additional mind control ability the drug possesses. Albert is still racing to find a cure, in case something does go wrong and more importantly, to save his daughter. Jade fines Billie becoming more distant, as the infection starts to take over her body and mind.

Back in 2036, Jade’s latest group of survivors find another disturbing truth about one of the group. This leads to them coming face to face with another legacy creature, the giant spider. The spider is one of the deadliest creatures they will face, with speed and piecers that rip through human flesh. Jade must show the family she has been helping the tragic truth of what will happen to them soon. Finally getting caught by Umbrella, before getting saved by the Brotherhood in France.

In 2022, Billie finally admits to Jade that she is can’t explain the changes she is going through, and Jade tells Billie what she has learnt online about the previous facility. This will give the sisters some closure for the first time.

What to look out for next time?

How will older Jade get across the channel?

What is going to happen to young Billie?

Can Albert create the cure?

What are the Brotherhood really like?

Short Verdict

This is becoming an overlaying problem with this show. In three episodes, the 2036 story is exactly the same, only in a different location. Jade runs Umbrella catching up with her, killing everyone around here. This is becoming dull and completely uninteresting. Despite giving us a look at more of the legacy creatures that made the series so popular.

The 2022 side of mixing teenage high school drama, in New Raccoon city, is more interesting but could have easily been explored more. Give full episodes to what is going on here.

This leads to the bigger problem with everything going on. Any danger the younger Jade is in, feels pointless because we know she is around in 2036. Giving away that Billie is searching for her, tells us that she might well be infected, but she will survive in some form. Most of the tension of the high school drama for violence isn’t getting what it needs.

Final Thoughts: This does continue to not feel like we are going very far, despite the legacy creatures will give it points. 3/5

Recap on Resident Evil Episode 2 The Devil You Know

After Jade’s daring escape into the infected, she is willing to do anything to escape Umbrella. Baxter is waiting for her to accept their rescue. While a stranger has his own plan to escape, seeing Jade join him. Even if he doesn’t last that much longer.

In 2022, Billie has survived the attack, somehow, as the sisters look to escape the facility. Saved by their father Albert, who could be the only one to save them from the attack. Covering up the attack to save his girls. Albert explains to the boss Evelyn Marcus who wants answers to the incident.

Back in 2036, Jade looks to find a way across the channel, turning to a former connection in Dover. The town is now under Umbrella protection, meaning Jade will need to sneak around. She learns that the captain has become infected, and his wife is keeping her locked up in the bathroom.

The Devil You Know

In 2022, Albert is checking up on Billie, trying to make sure she hasn’t become infected. Jade starts researching what happened in the Tijuana branch of Umbrella. A facility that has seen an incident happen previously. This has forced the research to move to New Raccoon City. Albert starts looking into the side effects of the bite, using his position to learn what might happen to his daughter.

Returning to 2036, Baxter is still on the trail of Jade. Meanwhile Jade has turned to a tavern searching for a captain who will take her across the channel. Stealing her way towards a pass, but Umbrella isn’t going to let her escape that easily.

In 2022, Albert needs to answer questions from Evelyn, who still demands the product be put on sale in 2-months. She exposes his need to remain injected on a daily basis to maintain his life. Billie isn’t seeing an improvement in her wound. As Jade finds someone else who was in the previous facility and knows the Wesker name. Billie sees her beloved dog turn on her, as a more violent side starts to come out.

What to look out for next time?

Albert Wesker’s connection to the previous facility

What does older Billie want from older Jade?

What does Albert take each day?

Can older Jade get across the channel?

How dangerous is younger Billie becoming?

Short Verdict

The change in Billie is becoming the biggest mystery in the show. In previous Resident Evil’s the infection is usually a lot quicker, so what is making her transformation slower. Learning more about Albert and his past is going to drive the series forward.

In the future side of things, it does feel a lot slower, it is mostly the same, Jade goes from one location to the next, being hunted down by Umbrella. They will kill everyone to get to her.

The split is still causing a lot of pacing issues here. In this episode, not enough time is given to the future Jade, which already feels repetitive.

Final Thoughts: The continuing build to something bigger is there but this slower episode, doesn’t unleash enough of the mystery. 3/5

Recap on Resident Evil Episode 1 Welcome to New Raccoon City

In 2036, the world has been destroyed for 14 years now, Jade Wesker (Balinska) is roaming an empty London away from her family. She is studying a pack of the undead, managing to go undetected while conducting the experiments. This is until a mistake sees her draw blood attracting the pack’s attention and showing off her fire protection system. Releasing a giant caterpillar-like creature.

Rewind to 2022, 3-months before the end happened. A younger Jade arrives in New Raccoon City. Albert Wesker (Reddick) has moved his family here for a new start, in the beautiful futuristic town. A place teenage Jade hates, but her sister Billie (Agudong) is more accepting of the move. The pair have never been sick in their lives, which is why Albert is trying to study them in Raccoon City.

As the girls are struggling to adapt to the new life, Billie finds herself targeted by the bully. Questioning her own mindset, where Jade prepares Billie to stand up for herself to make a statement. Becoming even more distant from her father, whose new drug us meant to help with depression. It is about to be launched, no matter how much he resists wanting to be released.

Welcome to New Raccoon City

Meanwhile, in the future Jade gets destroyed by the caterpillar creature, saved by three rebel fighters surviving in London. She learns about the scavenger living in Brighton, surrounded by zombies adapting to survive.

In 2022, a masked figure exacted revenge for Billie, leading to an imposing meeting with Albert and the father of the daughter who bullied Billie. This scene creates an intimidating figure, dominating the scene, sending shivers down your spine by his appearance in the scene.

Back in 2036, Jade finds herself sold to the highest bidder, Umbrella, who has a bounty on her head. Sending her back to the enemy she has been eluding for years. Umbrella arrives killing everyone, taking Jade back to her sister, who has been hunting her for years.

The sisters look to explore the facility after Billie learns that animal experiments might be happening in the facility. Discovering the truth, while unleashing the iconic hell hound in the facility. This will lead to Billie being attacked, with Jade unable to protect her sister.

What to look out for next time?

The opening attack in New Raccoon City.

Have the sisters released the virus?

What does Umbrella want with Jade?

How did Billie survive?

Short Verdict

This is an interesting beginning chapter of the series. The family dynamic is interesting in 2022. This will be a part of the series that is part we would like to learn more about. Watching Albert Wesker struggle as a father, but as a leader, he can send chills down your spine.

In the future version of the story, we see how Jade is trying to make things better after the infection has taken over the planet. Again, this is interesting to see what she is up to.

The problem with most of this is the jumping between the two times, not very much feels connected and we don’t get enough time to explore these moments in either world.

The performances are great, with the younger pair of Tamara Smart and Siena Agudong showing great chemistry as sisters. Lance Reddick steals the episode with that one intimidating sequence, where he threatens to destroy to life.

Final Thoughts: Great start to the series, leaving us with plenty more questions about what is to come next. 4/5
