Story: Hungry Hearts starts when Jude (Driver) and Mina (Rohrwacher) meet in New York. The pair get involved in a romance, get married and start a family. However, once they have their first child, tension starts to grow between the pair.

Jude wants to make sure their baby is healthy by seeing medical professionals, while Mina wants to raise the baby her way. However, this leads to problems that could cause deadly consequences for the pair.

Verdict on Hungry Hearts

Hungry Hearts is a romantic thriller following a couple whose relationship falls apart after they have their first child. It shows how the different beliefs in early childcare can cause massive problems between the two. This puts their child’s health at risk, as they try to figure out the problems.

The movie gets to tackle the serious problems that can be caused by differences of opinion in a relationship. When the child’s health is the most important part of their lives. It shows the dangers involved with everyone involved. Adam Driver stars in this movie and it is strange seeing in another movie where a relationship breaks down.

Final Thoughts Hungry Hearts is a tense thriller showing a disturbing side to toxic relationships.

Story: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society starts when popular author Juliet Ashton (James) receives mail from Guernsey. She has lived through the Second World War in England while having her horrors in her memory. However, Dawsey Adams (Huisman) tells her about a book club that helped the residents of Guernsey survive the German occupation.

Juliet decides to head to Guernsey to learn about what happened during the war. It sees her fall in love with the beautiful island but uncovers a truth that they had hoped to leave secret.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a romantic drama following an author who discovers a secret while visiting the island of Guernsey. She is invited to meet the book club members who dealt with painful stories during World War II. However, she starts to learn how much they lost during the painful time.

This movie shows how relationships during the war would be difficult and different for everyone. It proved people would find hope in books and connections through sharing them. This also highlights how everyone who survived the war would have tragic stories to release to the world.

Story: Destination Wedding starts when Ellie (PenaVega) is heading to Acapulco for her sister Mandy’s (Brooks) wedding. However, Mandy’s fiancée Jason (Dunbar) has Ellie’s ex-boyfriend Greg (Guilbaut) as his best man. Once the complication of having to spend time with an ex has been put aside the families head out to Mexico.

However, the trip takes another twist when Mandy and Jason miss their flights and Ellie and Greg must work together on planning the wedding. All while they end up getting the resolve the problems they had, as they hope to make sure the wedding still goes ahead.  

Verdict on Destination Wedding

Destination Wedding is a romantic comedy following the bridesmaid and best man that must come together to calm the storm after the bride and groom avoid their wedding. However, being former partners things get complicated as they start to rekindle their former love. All while keeping it a secret the wedding might end up getting called off.

This is a romantic comedy that gets to play into the idea of lost love. It shows that people can make big decisions in life that can end up breaking up a relationship. This has the charm of most rom-coms and a likeable cast that bring the magic to life. However, it does fall into the typical unrealistic world of romance where people suddenly know how to give up everything in life.

Story: Alone Together starts when New Yorker June (Holmes) looks to escape New York as the pandemic starts to spread. She finds herself in a country Airbnb, however, Charlie (Sturgess) has also rented the home. This creates an awkward situation for the pair.

Once the pair start putting the awkward situation behind them, they start to bond. This leads to them starting to fall for each other during a difficult time.

Verdict on Alone Together

Alone Together is a romantic drama following a woman that looks to escape the big city during the pandemic. Her partner doesn’t join her and she finds herself sharing the home with a stranger. As they are alone, they are left to enjoy their time together.

This is one of the most frustrating romantic dramas you will ever see. It has all the plain uneventful moments of a normal awkward meet and greats. However, it blends it into the whole Covid was hard. This sucks all the life out of the movie, making it plain, dull and uninspiring.

Final Thoughts Alone Together is a dull uninspiring drama.

Story: A Rocky Mountain Affair starts when an even planner Meg (Chyc) finds herself lost in the open world. Shea is heading to Hearts Creek to host a team-building weekend. Luckily, for Meg, she bumps into Ry (Zayonce) who guides her through the open mountain range.

As the pair spend time together, they both need to learn to accept their pasts about their lives. However, they are both stubborn and don’t know if they are ready to move on with their lives.

A Rocky Mountain Affair is a romantic comedy following a city girl who gets lost in the woods and meets a handsome cowboy. The pair must travel together and learn they have differences in life, but deep down they want the same.

This movie plays into the unlikely pair meeting from different worlds and falling in love. It uses the concept that city folk can get lost in the woods and are not used to how everything operates there. This follows the typical concept and for anyone who loves a rom-com can have a good time watching it. The performances are fun with Krista Chyc and Duff Zayonce clicking together nicely.

Final Thoughts A Rocky Mountain Affair is an enjoyable rom-com with people from worlds apart.
