Thoughts on Yardie

Thoughts – Yardie brings us a crime movie from a different background, seeing as the characters are from Jamaica, but only end up getting caught up in the middle of the same drugs battles in London, it shows us how the cultures might well be different, but the greed will still be the same between the people in this world. Showing us how trying to escape is just as difficult and holding onto a grudge will cause even more damage the ones you love. The performances in the film are strong throughout and play into everything we are seeing without being anything in the world that we haven’t seen before and by the end of the film, you will be left thinking we could have had a lot more from the film as for intensity levels.

Final Thoughts Yardie is a great directional debut from Idris Elba, bringing us a crime film with plenty of punch and a different prospective.
