Story: Infinite starts as we meet Evan McCauley (Wahlberg) a man that suffers from schizophrenia. This is because he remembers skills from previous lives. When he uses one of his skills he draws the attention of Bathurst (Ejiofor). Bathurst has been hunting for somebody from a previous life and believes Evan is that man.
When Nora (Cookson) rescues Evan, she explains the war between the Infinites who see this as a gift. While Bathurst is a Nihilist a group that sees it as a curse. Evan must get caught up on the war between the two and help stop Bathurst from hunting them down.
Verdict on Infinite
Infinite is an action sci-fi movie that follows a man that learns he is part of a bigger war. The war is between people that remember previous lives and the two sides who see the skill as different things. One sees it as a gift, while the other sees it as a curse and wants to end the cycle.
This is an interesting concept and one that could easily have been executed a lot better. However, we have seen this entry-level style so many times, it needs something to make it fresh. In the past, we have seen ‘The Matrix’ give us the best example of how to turn the style on its head. There isn’t enough time and focus placed on the characters we meet, and everybody just ends up feeling generic.
In the action side of the movie, we do get some big moments. Certain ones are ridiculous which works for the plot of the movie. This includes a motorbike landing on the wings of a plane. There is a skydiving fight, which is something which has become popular. This is the highlight of most of the movie, which is largely forgettable elsewhere.
Final Thoughts –Infinite is a big idea but is forgettable for the most part.

Story: Hunt Club starts when Cassandra (Suvari) gets invited to a special hunting weekend by Carter (Van Dien). He has arranged a hunt for the wealthy on a remote island for years and makes plenty of money doing so.
Carter has put together a group of hunters from different backgrounds who are looking to assert their masculinity. They have been taking women to this island to hunt, but Cassandra is unlike any woman they have faced before.
Verdict on Hunt Club
Hunt Club is an action thriller following a woman drawn into a trap created by insecure alpha men. However, the tables are turned on the hunters by a couple of vengeful bounty hunters.
This is a movie that gets to show how toxic masculinity has become in the world. We have seen the ideas of human hunting in the past, with this bringing the same ideas to the table. It has a range of weapons and the trapping of victims along the way. Despite the message being strong, most of the movie goes down the same direction we have seen before. The performances from Mena Suvari and Casper Van Dien are the highlights of the movie on the performance side of things too.
Final Thoughts – Hunt Club is a by-the-book action movie with a nice revenge message.

Meanwhile, his estranged father Alex (Mandylor) has been searching for him and looking to help him out. However, at the same time mastermind criminal Max Chandler (Krause) is planning his escape from the same prison.
As Max’s plan gets underway, Alex finds himself in the prison. He decides to fight back to rescue his son, all while working with hostage negotiator Chaz Coleman (Sizemore) on the outside.
Verdict on Breakout
Breakout is an action thriller following a former black ops agent that must take down a criminal mastermind who has taken over a prison. He looks to use his skills to stay ahead of the game and rescue his son. All this in a race against time to make it out alive.
This is a fun action movie using a traditional action concept. You can see this getting the typical branding ‘Die Hard in a Prison’ as it sees a solo military person fighting bad guys to save a loved one. This does everything right and easily fits in the enjoyable late-night action movie. It doesn’t try to do anything overly ambitious, just getting the basic concept right.
Final Thoughts – Breakout is an enjoyable late-Night Action movie.

Story: The Bouncer starts as we follow a bouncer Lukas (Van Damme) a single father in his fifties that looks to take a new role for a dangerous man. Which will find himself being put past the typical bouncer duties he was expecting. As he ends up helping complete criminal activities. With his own daughter being used a leverage to get the job done.
Thoughts on The Bouncer
The Bouncer is an action drama going in a different direction than you would expect, being darker than you would imagine. As the cold underworld doesn’t seem like it has an easy out, there are no one-liners, just fights and walking away.
This works in two ways, making it look a lot more interesting in the darker world. It does seem to make a lot of the film, feel a lot more lifeless with what is going on. The action sequences are simply enough. Van Damme is everything you would expect for his role and his more serious side works very well for the film. The supporting cast are solid enough, without getting enough time to shine. This is a simple and easy to watch action film, leaning heavily towards the drama of life problems.
Final Thoughts – The Bouncer is an interesting twist of the typical action movies you would expect Van Damme to be in.

Story: Alien Parasite starts as we meet a crew on a moon base. Roger (Traynor) runs the operations with Kate (Ciel-K) being his second. The crew is starting to feel strained and has lost communication with Earth.
To make matters worse, one of the crew members gets infected by an alien parasite and starts trying to kill the crew. The remaining crew members must come together and look to stop the spread before there is nobody else left.
Verdict on Alien Parasite
Alien Parasite is a micro-budget sci-fi movie. The movie follows a crew on a space station that discovers one of their own has become infected by an alien parasite. They must work together to escape the threat before it spreads through them all.
This movie does feel like a mix of ‘The Thing’ and ‘Life’ as we see the crew seeing a new enemy within. When it comes to the core story, this is entertaining and does give us a chance to see the suspense grow. However, the micro-budget effects might not work for everyone. The movie does a great job of keeping us guessing as to who might be infected as the tension between the crew members grows throughout the film.
Final Thoughts – Alien Parasite is a nice suspenseful sci-fi movie.

Story: Acts of Violence starts as Detective James Avery (Willis) bust the latest brothel, only too late. The owner Max Livingston (Epps) wanting answers. Meanwhile Roman (Holmes) is celebrating his engagement to Mia (Bolona) with his brother Brandon (Ashmore). While Mia is on her own bachelorette party with Brandon’s wife Jessa (Brouwer).
When Mia is abducted by the gang, Roman joins his brothers Brandon and Deklan (Hauser) as the hunt for her, diving into the underworld for answers, trying to stay away from Avery who doesn’t want them interfering in the case.
Thoughts on Acts of Violence
Acts of Violence is an action thriller that will follow three military brothers teaming up to go up against a human trafficking ring that have abducted one of their fiancées. This story will show how the police will find their hands tied by deals, rules and protocol. This force the vigilante techniques being used by the brothers, who will use all their military training to get what they want.
The strangest part of the whole film is how reckless the abduction is, because they have been so routine. This one only exposes them and more should have been done about that. If you are going in expecting Bruce Willis, he is more of a supporting character, doing everything he needs to in his role. This lets Cole Hauser, Shawn Ashmore and Ashton Holmes deal with the action side of the movie. Mike Epps does have a moment or two as the villain, but we could have seen a few more twisted sides to him. As everything the character is designed for, it the typical bad guy role. This is an action film that does what you would expect, offers little new, but will entertain.
Final Thoughts – Acts of Violence is an easy to watch action movie.
Plot: The story of feminist icon Gloria Steinem’s itinerant childhood and its influence on her life as a writer, activist and organizer for women’s rights worldwide.

We jump to different eras of her life, where she tried to make an impact in the journalism world. She must learn the system before finding out that she needs to help push through the change.
This does jump between the different time eras, showing the different challenges Gloria overcame. Which can see her talking to different versions of herself that made those big decisions. All of these moments show how Gloria was involved in the women’s rights movement worldwide.
Verdict on The Glorias
The Glorias is a biographical drama following the life of Gloria Steinem. She helped in the major women’s rights movement, inspiring women from different backgrounds to stand up. Her story is important and inspiring.
However, the movie doesn’t get enough of what she achieved over. Jumping between the different ages leads to more confusion at the moment we are following. Focusing on a couple of bigger moments instead of showing what ended up changing. The performances on the other hand are great, using the different actresses to play different eras of her life.
Final Thoughts – The Glorias is an important figure to get a movie, only it has a couple of confusing storytelling choices.
