The mystery about the staircase is the most fascinating part of the movie. Once the friends discover the staircase, things get more interesting and more intense. The location creates great isolation and plays into the unknown horrors in the forest.
Worst Parts
Some of the early interactions with the unexplained don’t seem to make as much sense. This is because the staircase is meant to be the main haunting case, but it ends up losing that moment of fear by having events before.
