Story: The Dark starts when serial killer Josef (Markovics) is transporting his latest victim Alex (Nichols). However, when they arrive in an abandoned home in the forest, Josef is attacked by an undead teenager Mina (Alexander). She frees Alex; however, Alex is used to what Josef did for him.
As Mina looks to guide Alex to safety, she shows rage from her own horrific death. This sees her brutally killing anyone who gets in her way, even those who might help her.
Verdict on The Dark
The Dark is a fantasy horror movie following an undead girl helping a blind boy from a serial killer. She looks to help him escape and reunite him with his family. However, the journey sees them creating a body count as she deals with her own demons.
This is a strange horror movie that looks to show the rage filling up inside of the victim of murder. It shows how far they will go to get revenge and not understand who could help them. Everything in this film feels a lot more confusing in motivation, rather than showing the bigger picture. While there are brutal kills, not enough seems to make sense as to why she attacks everyone they meet.
Final Thoughts –The Dark feels a lot more overly confusing.
