Recap

The documentary follows photographer Lynsey Addario and her journey through reporting. Elsewhere, she juggles family life and battles the modern society protecting her from the conflict photography she became famous for. The documentary follows her battle to show she is the best in the field and that she can handle herself and her family life.

Best Parts

Where the movie shines is by reflecting a modern question: ‘Would you let a new father go back to a dangerous job?’ This question is a big point in how hard Lynsey fights for her place in the field. Elsewhere, we see the amazing work she does and balance the dangers of her job with the comforts of her family life. This has importance for showing how small stories can change the world. It shows Lynsey’s ability to find the best shots, which helped highlight women’s rights in countries without the ones others take for granted. We get an important series of stories from her history of work, while her peaceful life at home shows a different world.

Final Thoughts – Love+War is a fascinating dive into a brilliant photographer’s life.

Recap

The documentary follows the events and chaos that hit America when a family believes their son has got stuck in their homemade flying saucer. It took off and swept across America leading to a massive rescue operation, where people are helpless. However, a deader story is revealed behind one of the biggest hoaxes in America.

Best Parts

This does a great job of showing how easily the country and create a panic from an incident that took over the world. It uses the real reaction before the event and after the event to show how people felt too. Deep down, it shows the family wanting to get attention and trying to prove they didn’t fake the events.

Worst Parts

Part of me thinks this isn’t a story that needed a documentary from the family’s point of view. It causes a lot of problems and it should have addressed more the people involved with the rescue attempts and other people watching in horror.

Final Thoughts – Trainwreck: Balloon Boy releases the chaos behind the biggest hoax in America.

Verdict on Tom Cruise: The Last Movie Star

Tom Cruise: The Last Movie Star is a biographical documentary exploring the career of Tom Cruise. It gets to take us from his early roles in the early 1980s, right up to the success of Top Gun Maverick. We get to follow the ups and downs of his career, both on and off the screen.

This is an interesting look at one of the biggest movie stars of all-time career. We get to touch on most of his major roles, proving how he took risks both with projects on involved in stunts. However, this doesn’t seem to offer much more than the surface-level explorations of his career.

It would have been nice to dive into more of a personal series of accounts around the movies. Exploring more of the moments that defined his career, instead of just explaining how people feel about his work. If you want to see a story through his career this is an interesting documentary.

Final Thoughts – Tom Cruise: The Last Movie Star is an interesting look at the icon’s career.
