Story: Dogman starts when Douglas Munrow (Jones) is arrested with a van full of dogs. Psychologist Evelyn (Gibbs) assesses him by looking into his history. Douglas was abused as a young boy and brought up in the foster system. However, the one thing he had in life, was his connection with dogs.

Once he becomes an adult Douglas works at a local dog shelter, but when it gets threatened with closure, he goes into hiding with the dogs. He starts operating out of a remote location, where he offers locals support in dealing with criminals. However, he gets mixed up too much with El Vergudo (Aguilar) leading to his need to escape.

Dogman is a thriller following an isolated man who has befriended a herd of dogs. He uses them to help him deal with criminals while giving them a friendly life. However, once he becomes a prime suspect in a crime, he must reveal his story.

This is an excellent thriller, which dives into the ideas of loneliness and connection. It shows how Douglas was pushed away from the world and his connection with his dogs became stronger. The story has a tragic side as we learn the abuse he went through. While he wants to give people a life which gives them happiness. Caleb Landry Jones continues his excellent career with another brilliant performance. The supporting cast is strong, with Jojo T Gibbs being the highlight of them. As for the dogs, they are great to watch operate in this world, protecting their owner from the world.

DOGMAN is released on Blu-ray and across digital platforms in the UK & Ireland from 11th March.

Final Thoughts Dogman is a tense thriller where Caleb Landry Jones shines bright.
