Story: Love Lies Bleeding starts when gym manager Lou (Stewart) meets bodybuilder Jackie (O’Brian). The two get involved in a steamy romance and dream of a life away from the small town. However, once Lou’s sister Beth (Malone) is beaten up by her husband JJ (Franco), things change.
Lou wants to help deal with the problems, while Jackie wants to continue her dream of getting to Las Vegas. However, the outcome of an encounter with JJ leads to something far more disturbing than expected.
Verdict on Love Lies Bleeding
Love Lies Bleeding is an action crime thriller following a gym manager who falls for a bodybuilder. However, they end up getting involved in a series of crimes that could expose their relationship and their secrets. It becomes a race to see if they can get away with things before it is too late.
This movie falls into the small-town crime story where an event leads to a catalyst of different events. It shows how things can spiral out of control quickly and people’s past can come back to haunt them. This shows the unlikely partnership blossom and shows how people will do anything for those they love. It has strong performances and is one of the better small-town crime stories. However, it doesn’t do that much different than what you would expect, except for a couple of dream-like sequences.
