Story: The G20 summit begins when President Danielle Sutton (Davis) prepares for the event. The event takes place in South Africa and brings together the most powerful world leaders. However, Rutledge (Starr) has other plans to hold the leaders hostage.
He wants the President to reverse her plans to help the world economy. However, she escapes and brings her military experience into play to take down the terrorists. She is left to protect other powerful leaders as Rutledge begins his ruthless campaign to end her plans.
Verdict on G20
Recap
The movie follows a former military-trained President who must fight back against a group of terrorists. She must work with others to save the other world leaders before they take control and ruin the global economy.
Best Parts
The concept is as simple as Die Hard at a G20 summit. By keeping the idea simple, we can blend in Air Force One to give us a military-trained President who must save the day. Viola Davis is brilliant in this role and the fighting sequences lean into a more modern style of combat. When it comes to the action side, we can have a lot of fun, it is enjoyable and keeps everything simple.
Worst Parts
The only weaknesses come from how easily the top secret is broken. Anthony Starr doesn’t reach Alan Rickman levels of evil. Despite him having a few ruthless moments. It also paints other world leaders as weaker and only the American leader is brave and fearless.
Final Thoughts –G20 is an enjoyable addition to the action world.
