Story: Herd starts when troubled couple Jamie (Adiar) and Alex (Akaha) look to spend time together to try and recover their relationship. However, an accident sees Alex injured and the pair return to a world of panic. The pair are rescued by a group of survivors, but they find the area overrun by zombies.
Despite the couple finding shelter, they find themselves in the middle of a bigger threat between two militia groups trying to survive the zombie outbreak. Jamie must figure out what is best for herself and Alex, as the war starts to intensify.
Verdict on Herd
Herd is an action horror thriller following a couple trying to survive the early part of an infection spread. However, it proves to be more difficult when they get caught between two militia groups fighting for power in the area. Now, they must figure out what is best for them.
This is one of the zombie movies trying to bring something new to the table. It follows the early outbreak and panic, focusing more on the idea of people trying to control an area for safety. All while giving us a serious relationship challenge for the couple involved. Even though the story looks to offer something new, it ends up falling into the middle of a few ideas we have seen before. Not being strong enough to blend them together for a top-tier addition to the zombie/infection collection of films. It is extremely watchable for anyone who is a fan and better than a lot of the low-budget ones we have got recently.
Final Thoughts –Herd is a welcome addition to the zombie/infection era of film.
