Story: Grand-Daddy Day Care starts when Frank (Wilson) and Emma Collins (Ortega) take her father Eduardo (Trejo) after a string of incidents in his apartment. Frank working from home, he clashes with Eduardo around the home, before a strange deal comes up, one to have other elderly people stay at his home, like a day care.

Frank ends up working with Eduardo to make this a legal idea that would help his family deal with money troubles, but not everything is going as smoothly as he would have liked.

Thoughts on Grand Daddy Day Care

Grand-Daddy Day Care is a comedy that is the third part in the day care franchise, this time seeing a struggling author looking to open a place for elderly people to spend the day, a place where they could have a day out, rather than being placed into homes. This is a surprisingly better outing than the first two films, showing a lot of heart about stopping to listen to problems, instead of just pushing them under the rug, with any interactions between Frank and Eduardo, when he is having one of his episodes, is brilliant to see. The comedy might well fall in the typical look at the we are old, things don’t work as well lines, that don’t always shine. The performances in the film are good, with Reno Wilson and Danny Trejo working very well together.

Final Thoughts Grand-Daddy Day Care is a fun comedy, better than it has any right to be.
