Story: Dasara starts as the small village of Veerlapally is rocked by an alcohol ban in the country. It sees businesses failing with only the mining operations holding things together. Dharani (Nani) grows up with his best friend Suri (Shetty) and learns Suri loves the girl he does Vennela (Suresh).
Elsewhere, Dharani works with Suri stealing coal for the village, as they look to keep alcohol flowing among them. However, when Suri isn’t allowed to marry Vennela, Dharani steps in to help him secure a job at the local Silk Bar. This leads to a series of events that puts the two best friends in danger from the current owners who don’t want to give up their role.
Verdict on Dasara
Dasara is an action-adventure movie following two best friends that look to help their small village come together. However, when they see a positive change, not everyone is happy with this decision. This leads to them needing to fight back to save their village.
Dasara is a big action-packed movie that doesn’t hold anything back. We get to see the little man stepping up to take down the ruthless controlling people that ruined their lives. It has all the ambitions of the recently popular RRR, without the full conviction. The flashy action sequences work well, without needing to move the story too far forward. This wants to reach the epic level but gets held back a little bit too often to achieve it.
Where to Watch: Dasara is available to watch on Netflix.
Final Thoughts – Dasara is the latest big action movie that doesn’t quite hit the heights of other recent ones.
