Verdict on Beast

Beast is an action thriller following a family that finds themselves trapped by a bloodthirsty lion. They must figure out how to escape before it sinks its teeth into them after going on a rampage against humans.

This is an old-school man versus creature movie, it can be seen in a similar light as ‘The Grey’. The idea a family gets trapped needing to fight back against an animal they have no chance against is always great for storytelling. It adds the intensity needed and the relentless nature of this movie, which means we keep going with more intense sequences.

The movie uses a couple of great single-shot moments to prepare us for chaos. This adds another level instead of the often overused quick-cutting style. The attacks are brutal and show how little chance any human would face against a lion. Idris Elba is great here too as is most of the cast throughout the movie.

Final Thoughts Beast is a ferocious non-stop action movie.
