Verdict on A Crime Story
Recap
The movie follows a hapless group of motel employees who stumble upon a drug operation. However, their plan leads them to cross paths with real drug dealers who want their product back.
Best Parts
The misfit nature of the employees works wonderfully, and it carries the situations the characters find themselves in. It has strong performances throughout the movie.
Worst Parts
The situation with the gangs clashing never makes the real dealers feel professional. Elsewhere, the power play constantly causes problems with how the movie unfolds. There are moments which feel like the story is overdone for an extra punch in the story which feels more generic and never clicks.
