Episode 8 – The Telltale Head
Couch Gag – This time we return to the Bart popping out falling on front of the television.
Plot Synopsis – Bart gets more than he bargained for when he saws the head off a statue of the town’s founder.
What is going on really – We start with Bart and Homer carrying around the head of Jedediah Springfield with the whole wanting to kill them, Bart begs for time to explain which will be the episode in question.
We flashback to the Sunday before church as we see how the children go to Sunday School while Homer wants to keep on top of the American football score.
Bart wanting to see a new movie Marge bans him seeing he ends up befriending the trouble makers from school Jimbo Jones, Kearney and Dolph who sneak him into the cinema. This episode really does introduce us to the most characters around the town.
Wanting to fit in Bart cuts off the head of Jebediah but only sees how the town get put into disarray with the decision Bart makes. Bart must face the actions he has done showing us that not everything needs to e to impress.

Final Thoughts – This episode showed how Bart was always trying to seek approval from the kids he considered cooler than himself, this will become an on running theme in the show but the most important part of this show is that we get to meet large amounts of the locals rather than just the odd one which has been the way early ones.
