Breathtaking space survival sci-fi thriller THE MOON is released on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD/BD Steelbook, as well as digital platforms in the UK and Ireland from 27 May 2024.
THE MOON stars Do Kyung-soo, aka D.O., member of superstar K-pop group Exo, as an astronaut stranded in space after a lunar mission goes disastrously wrong. Sol Kyung-gu (Public Enemy) is tasked with bringing him back to Earth safely – a mission fraught with risk.
Directed by Yong-hwa Kim (Along With The Gods), THE MOON has won awards and rave audience reviews for its stunning special effects and nerve-wracking drama. Fans of Gravity, The Martian and Spaceman – not to mention K-pop – should prepare for blast off!

SYNOPSIS: Seven years after Korea’s first fully manned mission to the moon ends in disaster, a second human spaceflight is launched successfully—until a strong solar wind causes the spacecraft to malfunction. With an astronaut left stranded in space and quickly running out of oxygen, the Naro Space Center turns to its former managing director to avert yet another fatal catastrophe.

A great review. I haven’t heard of this movie but this it does sound promising to me. I have always enjoyed movies which take place in space, and this appears to be one of them. The distinct backdrop of galaxy has often been a compelling backdrop for movies. For instance, Alfonso Cauron’s “Gravity” is one example of a movie that expertly uses space to build tension. Here’s why I loved that movie:
