Plot: Two schoolboy delinquents learn a lesson that they will never forget when a teacher at the end of his tether decides to abduct them.

Verdict: Tame Gory Attemtped Movie
Story: The Lesson starts as we meet Fin (Bendall) and Joel (Coltart) who are in their final year at school and being total rebellious teenagers by vandalizing property and stealing. We do see how Fin has been coming from an abusive family living with his brother Jake (Cox) who can’t wait to get rid of him.
This behaviour finds the two friends abducted by Mr Gale (Hands) a teacher that has reached his limits with the behaviour of the students and he puts them through a lesson which will push the boys to their limits.
The Lesson gives us another attempt to put a story in the torture genre of horror but the problem is there is a lot of issues going on here. First we know how much trouble these kids are trouble but we get left dealing which watching their actions for nearly 30 minutes of the film. When it comes to being taken we get very basic stuff happening in the torture genre as we see the teacher doesn’t really have a plan past ranting on about books and authors we might not all know about. I found this all to be very tame and really lacking that moment of true shock which should have been required for the genre.
Overall: Very tame horror that lacks that shock value we have come to expect in the genre.
