Verdict: The Sparks are Gone
Story: The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) starts like the second film by showing a character watching the end of the previous film, this time it is prisoner warden Bill Boss (Laser) being forced to watch it by Dwight Butler (Harvey) and his sexy assistant Daisy (Porn star Olson). The prison is overrun with violent inmates making the guard turnover high, this leads to Bill Boss wanting to bring back punishments but Dwight has his own idea.
Bill Boss is struggling with medical problems both physical and mental but won’t take the Doctors advice about the problems. When Governor Hughes (Roberts) turns up makes Bill Boss’ problems increase because he knows about the tackling violence with violence techniques. Hughes wants this changed or Boss and Butler will be fired. When Bill Boss’ ideas continue to fail Dwight comes up with the idea to turn all the inmates into one giant centipede bringing in the director him Tom Six to oversee the construction of the centipede.
The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) is the final part of a trilogy that I had to respect the first film because of the original idea, get disturbed by the second chapter and get disappointed with the conclusion. I have to say this was designed to almost take the piss at all of the critics who questioned the films in the past but ends up being very unlikable because of the character Bill Boss who I understand is made to be unlikable but ends up just being very annoying. The film takes way too long to introduce the idea of a human centipede with it being nearly an hour before entering the idea giving us nothing but pointless violence to start opening half of the film just to try and shock us. I can’t give only negative so the best thing about this film is that it would be a punishment to try and stop criminals committing crime because of the consequences. In the end this comes off too slow, too randomly violent and loses the idea of clever idea behind the concept. (3/10)
Eric Roberts: Governor Hughes wants things to change at the prison because of the violence and gives Boss a month to change the ways. Eric only has a couple of scenes but plays the Governor very well being the highlight of the film. (6/10)
Laurence R Harvey: Dwight Butler is the accountant at the prison who believes that the idea of turning the prisoners into a human centipede. Dwight is the one with the vision but he does belief that innocent people shouldn’t be punished. Laurence does a solid job but never reaches the levels he did in the previous film where his character will stick with you. (5/10)
Dieter Laser: Bill Boss is the sadistic prison warden who commits violent acts on the prisoners to try and make them disciplined. His job is on the line if he doesn’t change his ways but his idea includes reluctantly making a giant human centipede. Dieter makes this character almost unbearable with his constant shouting and screaming because you just get tired out it after a while. (3/10)
Bree Olson: Daisy is the sexy assistant to Bill Boss who has to do whatever he wants because of the strings he has pulled to help her family. Bree does try but you can clearly she isn’t meant to be a serious actress. (3/10)
Support Cast: The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) has a supporting cast that is mostly the generic prisoner that become the victims of the centipede.
Director Review: Tom Six – Tom manages to make a film that tries to stick it to the critics but never reaches the levels his first two managed to achieve. (4/10)
Horror: The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) does have horror elements but never really comes off scary but has few moments of gore. (5/10)
Settings: The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) keeps everything set in the prison which works for the idea behind the film. (9/10)
Special Effects: The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) uses practical effects but keeps them for the moments to try and shock. (7/10)
Suggestion: The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) is going to have to be one I say avoid because it doesn’t have the same levels the first two have. (Avoid)
Best Part: The centipede revealed.
Worst Part: Bill Boss is very annoying.
What Could Have Been Better? – Make it shorter, start the centipede earlier.
