Story: The Candy Store starts when a Chicago neighbourhood begins having an unusually high number of children go missing. When two friends see their best friends become the latest victims, they decide to investigate.

They believe it has a connection to the local lady who offers a cheap food supply. However, nobody wants to believe them. Meanwhile, she has been operating with her son, taking locals and nobody has questioned what has been happening. The two school students look to end the cycle before becoming the latest victims.

Recap

The movie follows a neighbourhood with an unusually high number of missing people. Two school friends work together to investigate only to make a disturbing discovery about one of the residents in the area.

Best Parts

The serial killers operating in the neighbourhood so smoothly is disturbing. It shows how people might never know their neighbours. There is a twisted idea behind everything happening, which could easily be explored more.

Worst Parts

The movie struggles to focus enough on the main characters, making it harder to get behind their battle. It also places a bit too much focus on building up a body count, which holds back the fully explored terrors.

Final ThoughtsThe Candy Store has a twisted, disturbing idea.
