Verdict on The Butterfly Effect 2
The Butterfly Effect 2 is a sequel with no connection to the original movie. It follows a man that goes through the same problems in life that decide to use an unusual power to travel back in time to fix things. This only makes things worse in his life, causing the butterfly effect.
Where the first movie created a unique premise, the sequel fails to capture the shocking moments in the changes. It doesn’t seem to get the cause-and-effect aspects of the movie down, because it only seems to follow Nick fixing his own life, rather than trying to fix the ones around him. When it comes to the effects involved, they are similar and work for the distorted mindset Nick suffers through.
Final Thoughts –The Butterfly Effect 2 is a restrained sequel in name and concept, not in characters.
