Recap

The movie follows a CIA analyst who wants revenge for his wife’s murder. However, the CIA refuse to help and he is left to complete the deed himself.

Best Parts

The mission is kept calm throughout as we see a more cold, calculated execution. It creates a wall of secrets that could ruin the lives of everyone in the CIA. The supporting characters are the most interesting and get the strongest performances in the film.

Worst Parts

The movie is a bit longer than it needs to be, and despite being longer, it fails to capture the bigger series of events within the CIA. Rami Malek is confusing with his role too, as not sure if he is autistic or is meant to be more nervous.

Final ThoughtsThe Amateur is a tense, easy-to-watch thriller.
