Story: The Troubles: A Dublin Story starts when two brothers Sean (Malone) and Francis (Redmond) get drawn into the Northern Irish war machine. They grew up around the troubles in Ireland and wanted to do their part to fight back against British involvement.

However, as they get involved, they learn what it means and deal with criminal behaviour. It leads to them getting in deeper than either of them planned as they show the battle among the people in the city.

Verdict on The Troubles: A Dublin Story

The Troubles: A Dublin Story is a drama following two brothers who get drawn into the Northern War Machine in Ireland. They see it as a chance to help their people before things get out of hand. However, it soon puts them in a spot where they are caught fighting for the wrong reasons.

This is a crime drama showing how easily people got dragged into the battle in Dublin. It focuses more on street war and criminal uprising over the bigger meaning of the battle. If you have seen ‘Belfast’, you would get a better sense of the turmoil going on between the innocents in the area. in the end, it feels like another typical crime story, rather than having the political message it should have.

The Troubles A Dublin Story is released on DVD and digital on 26 February.

Final ThoughtsThe Troubles: A Dublin Story follows a more traditional crime story away from the political message.
