Story: Survive starts when a family Julia (Dequenne), Tom (Pietschmann), Cassie (Dalamar) and Ben (Ebel) are sailing to celebrate a birthday. However, their celebrations are shattered when a cataclysmic event occurs. The poles have reversed, and the ocean has drained.

In the aftermath, the family must figure out what to do, which sees them travelling across the ocean surface to a potential safety zone. However, the journey is filled with terrors they never expected to come across and it becomes a desperate battle to survive.

Survive is a sci-fi horror following a family travelling across the drained ocean after a cataclysmic event. They face a race against time to find safety as the water could return at any moment. However, they discover other dangers that have survived the event.

When it comes to massive disaster movies, it has become more difficult to find something that stands out from the crowd. This movie brings a simpler side to the concept, where the event has happened, and we only follow a family trying to find safety. It throws in a dose of creature feature to create an edge-of-your-seat thriller. We can look at the actual science any day of the week, while this plays more into the conspiracy theory of what could happen one day. By keeping the story simple, we get to see how massive the world created is. The scale of the threat is impressive, and I just want to go back and experience even more.

Survive is available on Digital Platforms 30 September. Distributed by Signature Entertainment.

Final Thoughts Survive is a massive-scale, brilliant disaster movie.
