Story: Mad Heidi starts when Switzerland comes under attack from a new ruler the very Swiss leader President Meili (Van Dien). He wants to destroy anyone lactose intolerant to improve the cheese business. The strict ruling of Meili sees him killing anyone who supports the lactose members of society, including Goat Peter (Matsena).

When Meili orders his troops led by Kommandant Knorr (Rüdlinger) to execute Goat Peter, they make it a public showing. Heidi (Lucy) witnesses her love murdered and her grandfather killed, being captured. She is taken to a corrections camp to correct her ways but ends up fighting back against the brutal ruler.

Verdict on Mad Heidi

Mad Heidi is an action horror comedy diving into the grindhouse movies with Swissploitation. It follows a new tyrant president of Switzerland that uses his military to kill anyone who doesn’t like cheese. Until he clashes with a young woman who leads a fight back against the evil dictator.

This is a true throwback to the Grindhouse era of horror. We get massive amounts of blood splatter, over-the-top characters and an unlikely hero. It leans heavily into the comedy never taking anything too seriously. We could easily compare this to the modern-era Machete movies. Alice Lucy is excellent in the leading role, while Casper Van Dien steals the scenes with his bonkers tyrant dictator. If you like the Grindhouse movies, this is a welcome addition to that world.

Final Thoughts Mad Heidi is a great splatter-packed Grindhouse movie.
