Story: Dora and the Lost City of Gold starts when Dora (Merced) must leave her family Elena (Longoria) and Cole (Pena) in the jungle. She moves in with her cousin Diego (Wahlberg) in the big city. Dora must face her biggest challenge, high school, where her naïve nature sees her becoming the subject of constant bullying.

When Dora joins in on a school trip, she along with Diego (Wahlberg), Sammy (Madden) and Randy (Coombe) get abducted. They must put their differences aside to escape the capture of the mercenaries who are searching for her parents.

Verdict on Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is an action-adventure following the animated character in the real world. It sees a teenage Dora learning about high school, only to get drawn back to the jungle to save her parents.

This is a real-life version of the incredibly popular television series. It follows Dora and her adventures in a new world, high school, and a jungle she never experienced. Along the way she finds herself struggling to make friends until she guides them through a real jungle. There are moments of comedy that fit the younger audience. As well as the sense of pure adventure the characters go through.
