Verdict on Spookt
Spookt is a horror thriller following two paranormal investigators from different backgrounds coming together for an investigation. It brings a notorious debunker and amateur searching for the truth together. Along with diving into small-town legends that show how the stories spread and become part of history.
The movie does an excellent job of creating the difference between Claire and Rachel. Despite them starting off showing their differences, they must work together to solve the mystery. On the small-town big story side of things, we get a nice mystery that surrounds the town. One of the best ways to describe this movie is like ‘The Innkeepers’ keeping everything focused on a logical discussion while having creepy moments revealing more.
This movie creates genuine scares throughout the uneasy mystery around the town. Haley Leary and Christen Sharice are both excellent in their leading roles. They show the nature of both the investigators and what they want to learn about the mystery.
Final Thoughts – Spookt follows one of the most compelling mysteries in horror this year.
