Story: Shadows starts when low-level drug dealer Cody (Adams) finds himself being targeted by drug lord Nicolas (Labrava) after finding himself with the pure product Axel wants to sell. Cody is joined by his estranged mother Jewel (Allen) and uncle Dean (Etebrai) who offer to protect him.
As Cody continues to get hunted down, Dean will look to keep him safe, as they will need to find a way to get away form the drug lord hunting them down.
Thoughts on Shadows
Characters & Performances – Cody is the young drug dealer, raised through the foster system, blaming his mum for this, leading him down the road of this world. He finds himself being targeted by a drug lord who believes he is selling the product he is moving. He finds his mother trying to come back into his life, where he doesn’t want anything to do with her, before learning the truth about why she is back, needing to learn to trust her once again, along with his Uncle. Dean is the mysterious Uncle that has returned to protect Cody, he will kill anyone who gets involved with his family, sending him down a bloody path to free his family. Jewel is the prostitute mother of Cody, she put him into the system with it being the only way he could be raised safely, now she wants back into his life and is willing to work to make that happen. Nicolas is the drug lord that is looking to stop the sell of the pure version of his product, he will kill anyone he sees as someone who has crossed him, with his latest focus being on Cody. The performances in this film are strong throughout the film.
Story – The story here will follow the young drug dealer that gets caught up in the target of a drug lord looking to clean up any loose ends within the area, turning to his estranged family to help protect him from the danger. This is a story that will end up giving us an entry to the criminal underworld, where the struggle to survive will bring an estranged family back together. The story will continue to open up new doors for characters, giving us a collective amount of characters together to show how many colourful people will be in this world.
Themes – Shadows is a crime thriller that will take us into the underworld of drugs, prostitution and gangs as we see how many different people will operate within this world.
Final Thoughts – Shadows is a slick thriller with plenty of twists along the way.
