POOLS won an audience award at SXSW Sydney and will headline TIFF Next Wave, targeting Gen-Z with diverse cast projects.

POOLS premiered in October 2024 at SXSW Sydney, and won the audience award. Next, the film has been invited to headline TIFF Next Wave this April. They pick about 10 films a year fit for young audiences (15-30), jointly selected by TIFF and a group of highschool film enthusiasts they’ve brought on board that have to approve of the films, which is the perfect fit for POOLS given the gen-z target demo.

The lead, Odessa A’zion stars in the major wide release of Until Dawn, hitting theaters this April, and stars in Marty Supreme with Timothee Chalamet, as well as the Untitled Rachel Sennott Project show coming to HBO, among other upcoming projects. Mason Gooding has seen Heart Eyes hit theaters over Valentine’s Day last month, and has Scream 7 coming up among many other films as well. He was also the star and face of Aftermathwhich was the number 1 movie on Netflix in the US for February, and Number 3 internationally.

POOLS composer Cody Fry was nominated for his second grammy this year.
