New True Story Inspired Gothic Horror Feature “The Bloodline of Bathory” Unveils First Poster, Cast & Creative Team

A chilling new supernatural horror inspired by the infamous legend of Elizabeth Bathory is preparing to emerge from the shadows. The Bloodline of Bathory, produced by Natasha Tosini, blends gothic horror, psychological tension and dark humour into a claustrophobic nightmare where history refuses to stay buried. The production utilises extensive practical effects work to recreate the brutality and physical horror associated with the Bathory legend.
Set against the eerie backdrop of a supposedly historic Bathory site in Yorkshire, the film follows a group of young women whose overnight stay inside a commercialised tourist attraction spirals into terror after they uncover a disturbing diary tied to Bathory’s blood-soaked legacy. As the house twists into an inescapable labyrinth and a supernatural force awakens within its walls, the group soon realise they are trapped inside something far older… and far more dangerous, than they could have ever imagined.
Combining gothic European folklore with claustrophobic survival horror, The Bloodline of Bathory aims to resurrect the atmosphere of classic supernatural cinema through a modern lens. The film merges historical mythology, practical effects-driven horror, and psychological dread into a
contemporary nightmare.
SYNOPSIS
The Bloodline of Bathory follows four young women who visit what they believe to be a historic Elizabeth Bathory attraction in Yorkshire, only to discover it is little more than a staged Airbnb experience built upon ancient ground. But when a double booking forces them to stay overnight, their harmless getaway quickly descends into something sinister after they uncover a disturbing diary connected to Bathory’s legacy.
As darkness falls, the house itself begins to change. Doors lead to impossible places, exits loop endlessly back inside, and reality slowly fractures around them. When an ancient evil awakens within the walls, the survivors are thrust into a brutal fight for survival against a blood-obsessed descendant tied directly to the spirit of Elizabeth Bathory herself.
Blending supernatural horror with psychological dread, The Bloodline of Bathory explores themes of vanity, immortality, obsession, lineage, and the terrifying idea that some legends never truly die.

ABOUT THE FILM
Drawing heavily from the mythology, historical accounts, and alleged crimes associated with Elizabeth Bathory, The Bloodline of Bathory blends supernatural horror with real historical inspiration to create a disturbing modern claustrophobic nightmare.
Rather than simply borrowing Bathory’s name and legend, the filmmakers intentionally incorporated numerous genuine historical details, documented folklore, and several real torture methods historically attributed to “The Blood Countess” throughout the film. Many of the deaths, rituals, and acts of violence seen in the story are directly inspired by accounts connected to Bathory herself, grounding the supernatural elements in disturbing historical folklore.
Inspired by centuries of folklore and horror surrounding one of history’s most infamous figures, The Bloodline of Bathory aims to blur the line between historical legend and supernatural terror… asking not only what truly happened, but what may still remain.
HISTORICAL INSPIRATION
Elizabeth Bathory remains one of the most infamous and controversial figures in European history. Often referred to as “The Blood Countess,” Bathory has been linked for centuries to allegations of torture, ritualistic violence, and blood-related folklore that have inspired generations of horror stories, literature, and cinema.
While The Bloodline of Bathory is a fictional supernatural horror film, the production intentionally draws from numerous historical accounts, documented folklore, and alleged methods associated with the Bathory legend. The film’s deaths, rituals, and acts of violence are directly inspired by stories historically connected to Bathory herself.
Rather than presenting the legend as simple fiction, the filmmakers sought to explore why the mythology surrounding Elizabeth Bathory has endured for hundreds of years… and why her name still evokes fear, fascination, and mystery to this day.
Blending historical inspiration with supernatural horror, The Bloodline of Bathory attempts to blur the line between real-world legend and nightmare.
