Story: Magpie starts when Ben (Latif) and Anette’s (Ridley) daughter gets a role in an upcoming movie. It sees their daughter opposite Alicia (Lutz) a recently exposed actress, whose videos have been going viral. Ben meets her and starts getting closer to the star, who has created a bond with his daughter, for the movie.

Meanwhile, Anette sees her husband becoming more distant and starts to learn more about his trips on set. Their marriage starts getting tested as the pair find themselves feeling more distant than ever before. How far has this pushed them over the limit or are they comfortable with what they have now.

Magpie is a thriller following a couple’s relationship tested when their daughter is cast in a movie. They find the star getting attached to their daughter, while their marriage begins to get tested on what they want from their lives.

This thriller shows us how easily relationships can be tested and how easily people can get drawn to something else. It proves some people don’t understand boundaries and it can take them down dangerous paths. It keeps you guessing as to where things will go and leaves you wanting to see even more. Daisy Ridley continues her run of calmer roles where she is fantastic by making more of the silence her characters work with.

Magpie is available on UK and Ireland digital platforms 11 November.

Final Thoughts Magpie is a sizzling thriller that keeps you guessing.
