Story: Land of Bad starts when Master Sgt John Sweet (Ventimiglia) leads a special forces mission. His team includes JJ Kinney (Liam Hemsworth), Abell (Luke Hemsworth), and Bishop (Whittle). While Captain Eddie Grimm ‘Reaper’ (Crowe) and Nia Branson (Ikogwe) operate a drone above them.

However, the mission gets compromised, and Eddie must guide Kinney out of the area. Eddie uses his calm persona to guide from the skies, as Kinney navigates the area surrounded by enemies.

Land of Bad is an action thriller following a special force team whose mission gets compromised. They are guided from the skies by a drone pilot, as they look to survive against a ruthless enemy. However, the race against time proves to be a lot more challenging than anyone imagined.

This movie feels like an updated version of ‘Behind Enemy Lines’ using a lot more of the modern conflict methods. The action is intense and ruthless once the mission goes wrong. Meanwhile, the drone team has a much more complex reflection on how casual certain members of the team are. Even if this can draw back the intensity of the movie, as one side of the story becomes comical at times.

Land of Bad streaming on Prime Video 26 April.

Final ThoughtsLand of Bad is a relentless action thriller.

A good review. I wasn’t planning on seeing this movie based on the poster alone and now think that I’ll skip it altogether. This movie is further proof that Russell Crowe’s career has declined. He once used to be one of the greatest movie-stars in the world incapable of making a bad movie. The last movie he starred in which I actually enjoyed was “Les Miserables” which was more than a decade ago. Here’s why I loved that movie:
