Verdict: *While Hitting My Head* WHY, WHY, WHY?

Story: Joyride 3 starts with two stoners having a hotel romp who run out of drugs and decide to call a trucker on the CB radio to get their next fix only to end up talking to Rusty Nail (Kirzinger) and arranging a meeting. This gives us a chance to see what Rusty Nail is capable of and we see he has become slightly more twisted as he puts the two through a test that will end in death.

Now time to meet the characters we are going to see go up against Rusty Nail this time around. Our group of I am sure will be unlikely heroes are motor heads who are getting ready for a cross country race. The team includes Jordan (Hutch), Mickey (Hollingsworth), Austin (Venuta), Bobby (Manley), Jewel (Prout) and Alisa (Savasta). The team get warned about the road that now has a reputation out of nowhere and the road is called ‘Slaughter Ally’. The team refuse to listen to warnings and see Slaughter Ally as a short cut and a chance to put their fancy car on a test drive.

When Austin decides to piss off a trucker it turns out that the team have pissed off Rusty Nail and they have no idea what they have gotten themselves into. Rusty Nail tracks down the racers only to put them through the tests that have now turned into torture porn.

Joyride 3 has to go down as franchise killer material, it really is just awful, we get 6 easily unlikeable characters, which I predicted they would become and now Rusty Nail is a torture kill specialist. Yep you read that right, why happened to him playing slightly twisted games testing people like he did in the previous ones, yes his intentions were to kill in them but not go for the torture bloodiest possible kills. Continuing on the negatives after deep breathes we get plot holes left right and centre with one of the biggest being when the guys in the car are chasing the rig only to lose it, we have one character want out of the car only to try and ask for help from a rig driving past, really what the f*ck were you thinking sunshine? I do realises this sounds a lot like a rant but this film pissed me off big time. (1/10)

Actor Review

Ken Kirzinger: Rusty Nail is the estranged killer who picks his victims from his own stretch of round that has been nicknamed Slaughter Ally. He puts the racers teams through his tests that will leave them fighting to survive. Ken has the presences but lacks the striking fear in his voice. (5/10)

Jesse Hutch: Jordan Wells is the racer of the team, he seems to be the level headed one but switches between the characters through the film. Jesse plays the character that annoyed me all the way through with his terrible decisions. (2/10)

Ben Hollingworth: Mickey Cole member of the team who seems to be more about the technical side rather than the actually racer. Ben did nothing to help the story and just becomes a disposable support character. (2/10)

Gianpaolo Venuta: Austin Moore is the asshole second driver who ends up getting his whole team in trouble because of what he wants to do to the trucker. Gianpaolo doesn’t last long as he gets his just desserts for his actions. (2/10)

Jake Manley: Bobby Crow is a member of the team who ends up being a disposable supporting character. Jake gives us everything we want from a disposable character. (3/10)

Kirsten Prout: Jewel who ends up getting caught by the serial killer and used as bait while he tries to kill the rest. Kirsten does a good I got kidnapped performance but really offers nothing extra to the film. (2/10)

Leela Savasta: Alisa who comes along for the journey and makes for a good screaming in the background. Leela somehow makes it to the end but really does nothing either. (2/10)

Support Cast: Joyride 3 has a supporting cast that includes the police at that is about it.

Director Review: Declan O’Brien – Declan seems to be single handle destroying any film franchise he can get his hands on and it is doing my head in now. (0/10)

Horror: Joyride 3 plays along the lines of horror with the torture angles. But I am tired of those angles. (4/10)

Thriller: Joyride 3 doesn’t manage to put you on the edge of your seat like its previous outings. (2/10)

Settings: Joyride 3 (/10)
Special Effects
: Joyride 3 simple settings for the film but enough to make it effective. (5/10)

Suggestion: Joyride 3 just avoid this one don’t waste your time. (Avoid)

Best Part: Can’t pick one.

Worst Part: The acting, the storyline the plot holes, how much time have you got?

Believability: No (0/10)

Chances of Tears: No (0/10)

Chances of Sequel: Not at the moment.

Post Credits Scene: No

Oscar Chances: No

Runtime: 1 Hour 36 Minutes

Overall: This was simply awful don’t waste your time with this franchise killer.
