Story: Inside Out 2 starts when Joy and the other emotions get a new alarm, puberty. It unlocks a range of new emotions, Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment. Riley gets hit by a new life-changing moment, with her friends going to a different high school and a hockey tryout with her favourite player.

However, Anxiety takes over and sends Joy and the other original emotions out of headquarters. Joy must keep the group together to get back and learn another important lesson and understand emotions.

Inside Out 2 is an animated comedy following the original emotions dealing with puberty. It sees new emotions taking over and Joy once again needing to get the emotions back in order.

This movie brings to life the very real changes people go through. The new emotions represent other problems people go through every day, proving you never know what is going on in somebody’s head. It pulls on things people struggle with every day and can’t always explain. As well as exploring the moments that will stick with people forever. There are a few more American TV references which get lost in translation and other wises we get the heart and soul needed.

Final Thoughts Inside Out 2 is filled with heart and soul.

An excellent review. I had an opportunity to watch this movie recently and absolutely adored it. I thought it was a spectacular sequel that managed to improve on the first film. I particularly appreciated the depiction of anxiety in the movie. Being a person with severe anxiety, I related deeply to Riley. The scene where she’s having a panic attack is so real it reminded me of my own nervous breakdowns in school. It’s not nearly as great as the first film due to pacing issues. That being said, I loved it. Pixar never disappoints me, and this is one of the studio’s greatest movies.

Here’s why I loved it:
