Story: Forgive Me Father starts when a series of mutilated bodies are discovered. Detective Taylor (Humphrey) leads the investigation into the murders. Once they believe Glen (Turner) is behind the crimes, they track him down to a local church where he is holding Father Blakefield (Faraday) and his daughter.
Taylor plans to shut down the situation and hopefully learn his motivation. However, the calm situation lets Glen confess his actions to the priest. Although, it opens up more questions and things take a more serious turn.
Verdict on Forgive Me Father
Forgive Me Father is a horror thriller following the investigation into a series of grizzly murders. It turns into a hostage situation as the prime suspect is holding people in a church. However, not everything is going to be as clear as the police believed.
This movie starts with a series of shocking discoveries which gives us something to get invested in. It makes it feel like we are joining a brutal investigation. However, it takes a turn into more of a stand-off situation, which lacks any intensity. This becomes disappointing as the opening sequence gives us so much to work with. It ends up slowing right down and focusing more on the conversation about what is going on, rather than trying to understand the motivation.
