Story: Charlotte starts when a young girl Charlotte (Conlan) takes shelter in a stranger Roy’s (Kilbey) home. She is trying to avoid her father until her she can return home to her mother. Roy offers her a chance to stay safe, however, his past comes back to haunt him during his good deed.
Charlotte finds herself trapped in a circle of not knowing what to do, as Roy’s darker side comes to light. However, her plan causes more problems as she searches for the best way to deal with the problem.
Verdict on Charlotte
Charlotte is a horror thriller following a young girl who takes shelter at a stranger’s home. However, the more time she returns, the more his darker side starts getting revealed. She must figure out how to stop things from getting worse and escape his desires.
This movie is one of the hardest-hitting movies of the year. It takes on a subject many wouldn’t touch and delivers a disturbing story that gets more disturbing around every corner. Georgia Conlan brings us a movie and performance that could be talked about for decades and proves you can make a compelling story off a micro-budget. The best way to describe this is important and it is one you should be checking out.
Final Thoughts – Charlotte is important, compelling and jaw-dropping.
