Verdict on ApoKalypse
Recap
The movie follows a high school teenager working at the mall who needs to battle against zombies. They must understand what is going on to escape and stop the spread of the zombie outbreak.
Best Parts
The movie brings the animation comedy ideas behind a Family Guy or Bob’s Burgers. It pokes fun at the stereotypes of the world, mixed with a zombie outbreak. You could easily see some of the biggest animators do a similar idea and have plenty of fun with the concepts. This is for a certain sense of humour, but if it is the one you enjoy, you will get a laugh. Even in the limited time, we get time for the supporting character to come to life. For the microbudget used, this is a big achievement in animated filmmaking, which has a social message, flushed-out characters and comedy.
Worst Parts
As I mentioned, some of the humour doesn’t click the way it could; it is for a certain audience to enjoy.
Final Thoughts –ApoKalypse is enjoyable, wacky and wildly entertaining.
