The Hate U Give
Why I’ve Picked this choice – The Hate U Give shows us how the younger members of a community deal with the police strong arm behaviour, one family trains to make sure they are not victims, only for her to witness one of the police shootings first hand, torn between telling the truth, sticking to the beliefs of the neighbourhood the teenage girl must make a decision that could bring an end to the problems within the neighbourhoods. This doesn’t play into just one side being right or wrong, it shows us just how difficult both sides face when it comes to dealing with the situation.
