Plot: A cash-strapped hotel manager is forced to stave off interest from wealthy buyers at a public auction whilst hosting his in-laws on their wedding anniversary.

Story: A Family Affair starts when cash cash-strapped hotel manager Edward (Wilkinson) and his wife Helen (Aikman) must arrange a busy weekend. Edward has invited investors hoping he can secure the best deal. Meanwhile, both their parents arrive for a weekend away.
As the weekend unfolds Edward must hold everything together, as a series of events cause bigger problems. He wants a perfect holiday environment, but the quiet hotel turns into a panic-filled nightmare.
Verdict on A Family Affair
A Family Affair is a comedy following a desperate hotel manager trying to sell to clear his debts. However, the auction leads to a string of mishaps when family visit and potential investors reveal their plans for the hotel.
This is a wacky comedy that clearly feels like it is inspired by ‘Fawlty Towers’. It is filled with the shenanigans of a British sitcom that delivers the laughs throughout. We even get a serious side to the struggles of marriage and the pressure it places on people. Joe Wilkinson’s dry humour comes through well, as his character deals with the different problems occurring.
