Verdict: Action Packed Finale

 

Story: The Matrix Revolutions starts up right where the first film finished with Zion facing elimination within the next 20 Hours. Neo (Reeves) still in a coma like state stuck between worlds of both The Matrix and the Real World with Morpheus (Fishburne) receiving summons from the Oracle.

Trinity (Moss) and Morpheus go into the Matrix to locate Neo coming face to face with an old enemy. Once released from his lost state Neo learns that he is the only one who can save both worlds from both enemies with Agent Smith (Weaving) becoming even deadlier killing the Oracle but also trying to enter the real world.

Agent Smith finds himself fighting his fight in the real world as he puts Neo to the ultimate test one his one-way mission to save the humans in their battle. We await the final conclusion to this epic story where humanity will need to overcome the odds to win.

The Matrix Revolutions does finish of the saga very well but sadly this is nearly a two-hour action bonanza that does forget how import the Morpheus character. While the story does come full circle it does it with us having to deal with all the over the top action. It could all be discussed to deal with the religious elements going on but in the end that is up to how you want to read the story.

 

Actor Review

 

Keanu Reeves: Neo finds himself having to battle Agent Smith in both worlds as he searches to once and for complete his destiny as the one to save humanity from the machine controlled world. Keanu is good in this role but doesn’t reach the same levels as before.

Laurence Fishburne: Morpheus joins the rest of the resistance in battle against the machines showing he true leadership skills when it comes to battle to save the human race. Laurence gave us two brilliant iconic performance but this time Morpheus falls into supporting character we hardly see being the character we knew before.

Carrie Anne Moss: Trinity joins Neo on his one-way mission to the machine city to face the machines in what looks like a suicide mission. The love between the two will drive this mission. Carrie is god but like the rest she doesn’t reach the same levels.

Hugo Weaving: Agent Smith takes full control in the Matrix making him the force that Neo can’t battle within this world but with him entering the real world he becomes a foe Neo wasn’t ready to battle. Hugo has his more sinister scenes but is barely in the final movie because of the battle going on.

Support Cast: The Matrix Revolutions still has the massive supporting cast which are all genetic soldier like characters during the immense battle sequences.

Director Review: The Wachowski Brothers – The brothers do give us a seemingly non-stop action bonanza with the concluding part of their sci-fi saga.

 

Action: The Matrix Revolutions is pretty much non-stop from the opening sequence to the final scene when it comes to action even though large amounts are mass combat scenes.

Sci-Fi: The Matrix Revolutions continues to keep the sci-fi world looking strong where we get to see the battles going on in a post-apocalyptic future.

Settings: The Matrix Revolutions uses both worlds to show just how bleak the future is with the machines controlling over it.
Special Effects: The Matrix Revolutions gets the special effects back on track with this one with each scene look and feeling like the real deal.

Suggestion: The Matrix Revolutions is one you should watch to complete the series because the end works out very much complete. (Complete Franchise)

 

Best Part: Robot invasion battle.

Worst Part: Somehow there is too much action.

Verdict: Bigger Sequel

 

Story: The Matrix Reloaded starts as we see the humans in the real world as Morpheus (Fishburne) joins the rest of the resistance as they are preparing for a fresh attack from the robots ruling the world. Neo (Reeves) still believed to be the one is an icon within the human settlement must continue to use his training to battle the new upgraded Agent Smith (Weaving) who has become more sinister than before.

Neo leading the war inside the Matrix where he must find a way to save Trinity (Moss) from his dreams, while Morpheus must prepare for the war in the real world where his choice leaves a divide with the remaining humans.

The Matrix Reloaded does build upon the classic original film by looking deeper into the how the Matrix is run as well as looking at how the battle in the real world is going. The mix of both of these stories comes off very strong and does make sense to go in the directing the story goes. I do feel like this is the builder film which we have come to know so well know but this film does leave the conclusion ready for the next film. This is a good addition to the sequence of films go that is well worth the watch.

 

Actor Review

 

Keanu Reeves: Neo has fully understood his powers now treated like an icon in the real world with people flocking to see his return. Neo is dealing with his own traumatic dreams where he witnesses Trinity’s death and with Agent Smith reaching new levels on intensity Neo’s journey takes him deeper into Matrix coding in search for the Architect. Keanu continues to make this role his own where we do get to see how iconic this character has become to his career.

Laurence Fishburne: Morpheus continues to Captain his ship but finds himself dealing with an old rival in the real world who wants his help in defence of an impending attack from the machines. Laurence is good as we get to see him pull off more action in the Matrix along with him looking lower ranked within the real world.

Carrie Anne Moss: Trinity now the partner of Neo in the real world continues to fight the good fight within the Matrix unaware that her potential future death is driving Neo. Carrie is good and continues to show the strong role.

Hugo Weaving: Agent Smith has received an upgrade well a self-taught upgrade which makes him the most powerful agent within the Matrix. He can duplicate making him have the numbers advantage over Neo this time. He continues to have the sinister nature we have grown to know making him a more dangerous enemy this time around. Hugo is good as this villain once more as we wait to see where his character goes next.

Support Cast: The Matrix Reloaded has a huge supporting cast this time around as we delve deeper into the characters inside the Matrix as well as looking at the humans battle the machines. This does make the film slightly hard to follow rather than just a relaxation style action film the first one had.

Director Review: The Wachowski Brothers – The brothers continue their epic story looking deeper into both sides of the battle for control.

 

Action: The Matrix Reloaded continues to have amazing action sequences even though small parts are very CGI heavy.

Sci-Fi: The Matrix Reloaded show both sides of the war where one is inside a computer generated world and the other is in a post-apocalyptic one showing the true sci-fi side of the story.

Settings: The Matrix Reloaded blends the two worlds together to make us see the struggle from both sides of the battle.
Special Effects: The Matrix Reloaded has moments of stunning special effects but also has a couple of mixed bad effects.

Suggestion: The Matrix Reloaded is one I do think works as an action film which could and should be enjoyed by all. (Watch)

 

Best Part: Freeway scene.

Worst Part: Those effects within the Smith’s Neo brawl.

Verdict: Stunning

 

Story: The Matrix starts as we follow Mr Anderson (Reeves) a computer tech guy who lives a double life as a computer hacker under the name Neo. When Agent Smith (Weaving) catches up with he is left with a choice, but there are two sides to the story as Morpheus (Fishburne) along with Trinity (Moss) want to recruit him too.

Neo agreeing to help Morpheus finds himself in the real world, a world controlled by Artificial Intelligence that feed of humans using The Matrix to keep everyone believing they are living a normal life. Enter into the real world Morpheus believes that Neo is ‘The One’ who can save the world from the ruin it has become, but can he handle himself inside the Matrix with Agent Smith on his tail.

The Matrix is one of those films that you would have heard about for years and amazingly it still comes off as one of the greatest most original stories in film history. The story took everything we knew and understood about computers and took it all to the next level. Think what Terminator was offering only with a complete story of destruction actually having happened. The story does have the generic if not enhanced version of the mentor student relationship coming through between Neo and Morpheus which all works well too.

 

Actor Review

 

Keanu Reeves: Neo believes he lives in the real world working as a computer programmer and moonlighting as a hacker which gets him noticed by both sides of a war. Neo gets taken to the real world controlled by Artificial Intelligence where he gets trained by Morpheus who believes he can stop the war. Neo really is a character that we need in this role because he is asking a lot of question that do need answering and once we get into the full story he is the ultimate reluctant hero. Keanu gives one if not the best performance of his career in this role.

Laurence Fishburne: Morpheus is the Captain of a ship resisting the war that has taken over the world, he has been searching for The One who can put a stop to it once and for all and Neo is his latest candidate. He is a good leader and teacher as we need mentor to help Neo through the world. Laurence is great in this performance which has fast become one of his most iconic.

Carrie-Anne Moss: Trinity is the lead fighter under Morpheus and the one who brings Neo through everything when he isn’t fully trained, she also ends up being a love interest for Neo. Carrie gives us one of the strongest female characters in sci-fi history.

Hugo Weaving: Agent Smith lives within the Matrix and has the ability to become any character within the Matrix as he hunts down the illegal programs inside the Matrix. Hugo makes for one of the most sinister and emotionless villains in any film.

Support Cast: The Matrix had a small supporting with Joe Pantoliano being the biggest impact in the overall story.

Director Review: The Wachowski Brothers – The brothers gave us one of the greatest sci-fi movies of the modern era of cinema.

 

Action: The Matrix has some of the most breath-taking action sequences we have seen when it comes to film, many of which have become parodied over time.

Sci-Fi: The Matrix puts us into a world where humans have been destroyed and reduced to fuel showing us a future that we could create.

Settings: The Matrix has two main settings one is within the Matrix the world we all know and live in, the second is the destroyed future world run by the robots using humans as fuel. The two settings work perfectly throughout the film.
Special Effects: The Matrix has the special effects that just blew the audience away and 17 years later still haven’t dated a single bit.

Suggestion: The Matrix is one film I do think everyone should have seen at least once. (Must Watch)

 

Best Part: Slow motion scenes.

Worst Part: It really is hard to find one.
