6 Facts About Creed 3
Creed 3 is right around the corner and the revitalised franchise is ready for its new lead Adonis Creed to take on a new fight. The Creed movies have become welcome additions to the Rocky legacy and I look forward to the next chapter in the franchise. I thought putting together a little list of facts would be fun before going into the latest instalment.
6 Facts About Creed 3
1 – No Returns
Creed 3 is the first movie in the entire franchise not to include anybody who appeared in the first Rocky movie. We have seen people slowly start to drop out of the franchise during the Rocky era. However, now Sylvester Stallone has confirmed Rocky’s journey is complete, he won’t be in the latest movie.
2 – No Real Fighters
Creed 3 will be the first in the Creed run of the franchise, where the opposition isn’t a real-life boxer. Former champion Tony Bellew was in Creed and Romanian powerhouse Florian Munteanu is in Creed 2. This does make more sense because Jonathan Majors’ character Damian Anderson does have to do more acting, rather than being a big fighter Adonis must face.
3 – The Fewest Rounds
Creed 3 is going to be the shortest movie in the Creed series. Both Creed 1 and 2 went just over 2 hours, while Creed 3 falls just below the 2-hour mark. This would make sense because we are solely focusing on Adonis this time. The franchise has moved away from Rocky, so we have fewer scenes with him and his personal problems in life.
4 – Not Met Yet
Creed 3 stars, Michael B Jordan, Tessa Thompson and Jonathan Majors. They all star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, none of their characters have ever met before. While is feels unlikely we will ever see Killmonger vs Kang. It does feel like Valkyrie will eventually clash with the newest big villain in the franchise Kang.
5 – First Debut
Creed 3 is going to be directed by the star of the movie Michael B Jordan. While the Rocky franchise did see Sylvester Stallone step behind the camera too. This marks the first time the franchise has had a debutant in the director’s chair.
6 – Threes Company
Creed 3 has its third different director after Ryan Coogler and Steven Caple Jr directed the first two movies. However, despite only being the third movie on the Creed side of the franchise. Creed 3 already has more directors than the previous 6 Rocky movies. Sylvester Stallone directed Rocky 2, 3, 4 and Rocky Balboa, while Oscar Winning director John G Avildsen directed Rocky and Rocky 5.
