The battle takes over the village and the Germans find themselves taking no prisoners in the town as Laurentz (Anderson) takes control. However, the fight back sees them getting outsmarted in the bigger battle.
Verdict on The Last Front
The Last Front is an action thriller following a farmer who leads a fight back against German soldiers invading his village. His children are taken from him, forcing him to fight back with deadly consequences.
This movie brings us into a battle between a resistant village and an invading German army. It uses the conflict that turns more into pure revenge rather than playing into the military invasion. This helps create the warring sides that could happen in any conflict, instead of solely World War I. However, this could take away from the importance of the bigger war going on. Despite this, Iain Glen is great in the leading role and holds everything together with his pure determination for revenge.
Where to Watch
The Last Front will be in UK Cinemas from 1st November
Final Thoughts – The Last Front is fuelled by pure revenge.
