Verdict on Sinners
Recap
The movie follows two brothers who want to open a bar for the locals in their small town. However, an unexpected guest causes problems and their friends must fight back against blood thirsty vampires.
Best Parts
This is an excellent addition to the vampire sub-genre of horror. Not only does it play with the traditional themes around vampires, but plays into its own rules. The performances are fantastic and despite having a well over two-hour runtime, you barely notice it. We get to tackle racial themes too, by having the movie set in the 1930s where tension in certain states was still high. The best way I could describe this is this generation’s From Dusk Till Dawn.
Final Thoughts –Sinners is a brilliant, bloody and socially eye-opening vampire movie.
