Story: Volition starts as we meet James (McMorran) who has the ability to see into the future. This will help him when it comes to getting by, either stealing or conning people out of money. With his ability. He ends up saving Angela (Apanowicz) from a robbery, but his past starts to catch up with him.

On the run James and Angela find themselves meeting Elliot (Marchant). A man that will give James the answers he has been searching for to clear his name and save the people he loves.

Thoughts on Volition

Volition is a sci-fi film that will look to bend the time of reality. Showing James through different stories, ones where he will go through one path. Only getting different directions, much like ‘Triangle’ did putting us into a loop. where each moment seems to be connected to a previous one. This is one that will keep you guessing as to what will happen next. Which will see the concept behind everything clicking well. Even if the whole idea of a deal going wrong not being as strong as it should be.

The performances in the film are strong throughout. Where everyone involved will give us the chance to see what their point of view is. Even if the final act sends some of the characters into a singular loop. With James seeing them in different angles.

The main settings show us just how the character is cocky about his life and how it will end up costing him in the long run. When people know where he will be found out. The science behind the time travel does feel like it is original, with the manner in what is happening making things more unpredictable instead of just being a machine.

Volition is an interesting sci-fi film with a concept similar to ‘Triangle’ only it lacks the full brilliance in the arcing heist side of the story.
