Thoughts on The Bunker Game
Characters & Performances – Laura is a member of the gaming performers, who has been looking to step away from the concept after learning she is pregnant. She leads the investigation into finding out what happened in the bunker, where she finds herself connecting with the truth about the bunker. Greg is the mastermind behind the game, the one that is starting to see things unfold, before he vanishes, putting the rest of the performers in the game searching for him. Harry is one of the contestants who joins the search because of his fondness for one of the performers, he is happy to have the chance to escape his normal life, for this adventure. We do meet most of the performers who all have their own reason for being part of the game, despite not being anything like their characters. The performances in this film are good, with everything taking the idea of what is going on in their stride, rather than anything being over the top reaction, with most playing almost tired actors.
Story – The story here follows a group of role-playing performers that must search for the mastermind behind the game who has gone missing on the latest location, a world war bunker, forcing them to go deeper into the bunker in search for answers. This is a story that will start off looking like a darkly comic role-playing game, before we get into the horror side of the film, which will keep us on edge, with the mystery about what is going on within the bunker, a part of the film that will keep us wanting to learn more about the film. Certain aspects of the horror will be something we have seen similar, which is what will make this such an interesting story, as we don’t know what will be happening next.
Themes – The Bunker Game is a horror that will use the location of the military bunker to create the trapped environment the group will find themselves in, before giving us plenty of the unknown for what we are going to go through. The location is used well, because it turns what is an attraction for a fun event, turned into horror the deeper people dive into things.
Final Thoughts – The Bunker Game is a horror that will give us plenty of mystery around what is happening, making us want to learn more about the world we are in.
