Oscar Winners Early Work 5 – Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne won the Oscar for The Theory of Everything and fully deserved that award, but then gave one of the most criticised performances in Jupiter Ascending. I have decided to look at five roles he had before he was the star everyone knows he could be.

5. My Week with Marilyn (2011)

This role was next to Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh with the Oscar nominated performance from the pair of them.

4. Black Death (2010)

Staring in the leading role next to Sean Bean in this easily forgettable medieval action film.

3. The Other Boleyn Girl (2008)

This mega star cast of Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Eric Bana along with early roles from Benedict Cuberbatch. This showed that he was being considered for serious films early on.

2. The Good Shepherd (2006)

This Robert De Niro directed film with Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and Alec Baldwin gave Eddie a very small role.

1. Doctors (2001)

This daytime television soap is the popular in the UK where many British stars got one of their first roles.

  1. Haha – Doctors!! I guess the current cast are pretty optimistic then, their motto must be “don’t worry about the soap awards, just look at Eddie!”

I dislike Eddie Redmayne very much I’m afraid to say. It’s totally unjustified and irrational, he just annoys me.
