2017 Award Best Film

2017 Award

Best Film

January is here and that means award season and for the whole of January I will be looking at a range of best and worst subjects, this is going to be a countdown of my 10 favourite films of the year.

NOMINATIONS

10. Wonder

9. Logan

8. Baby Driver

7. Ingrid Goes West

6. Okja

5. Get Out

4. Your Name

3. Wind River

2. Dunkirk

Winner

War for the Planet of the Apes

Reason – This might well have been the third instalment of the trilogy, but it is potentially the best third instalment in any movie, it brings Caesar’s story in full circle in the battle to just live in peace alongside the humans, but this time he gets pushed to limits that could turn him into his worst enemy, Koba. This is visually spectacular, the directing, the acting the effects are just fantastic from start to finish.

2017 Award

Worst Film

January is here and that means award season and for the whole of January I will be looking at a range of best and worst subjects, before going into what I think are the true best nominations.

NOMINATIONS

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Alien Covenant

The Mummy

The Bye Bye Man

Don’t Hang Up

Flatliners

1922

Jigsaw

Winner

Flatliners

Reason – I wanted this movie to be good, it was a film that could have had a modern reboot, with the improved technology that could prove the studies, but it just turns into a jump scare mess that starts going in original direction, only to turn around and go, no this isn’t good for you, we want to give you something you don’t like.

Winner

James McAvoy – Split

Reason James takes on 24 personalities in this film and he doesn’t shy away from the extremes of each personality. This shows his full range and in some scenes, we see the range between sentences not just cuts of the camera. This is one of those horror performances that should get looked at as a great, wonderful or fantastic acting performance.
